Jyoti Vidyalaya

Jyoti Vidyalaya came into existence on 12 th July 1978 however the building of what we know as Jyoti Niwas was bought from Mr. Vasudevan Namboothiri in 1975 by then priest in charge Rev. Fr. John Vadakkel CMI.

The school was inaugurated by Bishop Rt. Rev. Gratian Mundadan CMI, then President of the Educational Society of the Diocese of Bijnor and Garhwal, who always inspired and encouraged us with his guidance and assistance.

On 12th July 1978, Mr. Rai Singh I.A.S, then District Magistrate, Chamoli declared the opening of the new school.

Hearty welcome to Jyoti Vidyalaya’s school website.

Jyoti Vidyalaya is imparting its “Jyoti” to the people of Joshimath and around from the year 1978. Being Christian minority institution, the school seeks excellence both in academic and non- academic discipline. The school provides opportunities to all our students without any discrimination to develop their imagination, creativity, aesthetic sense, communication skills and sporting spirit.

Our teachers give personal care to the students for their all-round development. Experienced teachers, co-operative parents and enthusiastic students are our strength.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE SCHOOL

The aim of this institution is to train students under its care for the balanced and integrated growth of their intellectual, mental, physical, cultural and moral aspects that they may be fully equipped citizens. That being fully integrated and imbued with a sense of divine they may foster universal and external values and strive to bring about a just society.
